1. ABOUT ME

These are the Terms and Conditions for The Fairy Birthmother, operated by Victoria Youngman .

2. SERVICES PROVIDED

I provide lactation consultations, baby massage instruction, hypnobirthing & antenatal courses and postnatal support classes.

  • Private breastfeeding and feeding consultations both antenatal and postnatal
  • Weekly pregnancy relaxation classes for expectant mothers from 12 weeks gestation
  • 5-week baby massage and yoga courses for babies aged 6 weeks to crawling
  • Group and private hypnobirthing & antenatal courses for expectant parents
  • Postnatal support classes for mothers and their babies

My services are intended for pregnant individuals, new parents, babies aged 0-12 months.

Please note: My services are educational support wellness in nature and do not replace medical advice or treatment.

3. BOOKING & PAYMENT

3.1 How to Book

Bookings can be made:

  • Online via my website/ Ticket Tailor / Stripe Link

3.2 Payment Methods

I accept payment by:

  • Bank transfer
  • Stripe Card payment via my website or link sent

3.3 When Payment is Due

  • Block bookings: Payment required in full at time of booking
  • Hypnobirthing & Antenatal Courses (inc. Prepare to Breastfeed): £50 (£25 for Preparing to Breastfeed) deposit at booking and remaining payment required in full within 1 week of booking
  • Postnatal lactation consultations : Full payment at booking

3.4 Payment Plans

Payment plans may be offered on an individual basis.

3.5 Confirmation

Your booking is confirmed when:

  • Payment has been received in full (or deposit, if applicable)
  • You have received a confirmation email from me

4. CANCELLATION POLICY

4.1 Cancellation by You (the Client)

Drop-in Classes:

  • No refund for cancellations, but you may transfer to another date with 24 hours notice

Block Bookings:

  • Unused classes from a block booking cannot be refunded

Courses (Prepare to Breastfeed, hypnobirthing & antenatal courses):

  • Cancellations made 14+ days before the course starts: Full refund minus £50 deposit
  • In the event of a pregnancy or birth-related emergency, please contact me as soon as possible to discuss your options, including rescheduling or a partial or full refund, at my discretion.

1:1 Services:

  • Cancellations made 48/72 hours or more before appointment: Full refund minus deposit/Reschedule once for free
  • Cancellations made less than 48/72 hours: A non-refundable deposit will be retained. 50% of the remaining balance will be refunded.
  • No-shows or cancellations made less than 24 hours: Full session charge

4.2 Cancellation by Me

I reserve the right to cancel any class or service with 24 hours notice due to:

  • Insufficient bookings 
  • Instructor illness or emergency
  • Venue unavailability
  • Severe weather or circumstances beyond our control

If I cancel:

  • You will receive a full refund/credit to use on another class or service
  • I will notify you by email/text/phone as soon as possible
  • I am not liable for any indirect costs you may have incurred (travel, childcare, etc.)

4.3 Pregnancy & Birth Considerations

I understand that pregnancy and new parenthood are unpredictable.

If you have your baby before a scheduled hypnobirthing course, you can transfer to the next available course or receive a refund for classes missed.

If you have your baby before a scheduled pregnancy relaxation class, you can transfer to the next available relaxation course.

For pregnancy classes, if you’re advised by your midwife to stop attending, we’ll refund remaining classes with medical evidence

5. HEALTH & SAFETY

5.1 Your Responsibility

By booking with me, you confirm that:

  • For pregnancy services – You are at least 12 weeks pregnant (unless otherwise agreed)
  • You have completed my medical questionnaire truthfully and in full
  • You do not have any medical conditions that would make participation unsafe
  • You will inform me immediately if your health circumstances change
  • Baby massage -Baby is 6 weeks or older

5.2 Medical Conditions

You must inform me if you have or develop any of the following:

  • For pregnancy: High blood pressure, pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, SPD/PGP, risk of premature labour, expecting multiples, history of miscarriage, any other pregnancy complications
  • For postnatal: Diastasis recti, pelvic floor issues, birth injuries, postnatal depression, any complications from birth
  • For babies: Any health conditions, developmental concerns, recent vaccinations, allergies

5.3 Right to Refuse Service

I reserve the right to refuse service or ask you to stop participating if:

  • I believe it is unsafe for you to continue
  • You have not disclosed relevant medical information
  • You have not obtained required medical clearance

In such cases, you will be offered a pro-rata refund/credit for unused sessions.

5.4 Participating at Your Own Risk

While I take all reasonable precautions to ensure your safety, you participate in my classes/services at your own risk.

You should:

  • Listen to your body and stop if something doesn’t feel right
  • Ask questions if you’re unsure about any movement or activity
  • Work at your own level – never push into pain
  • Stay hydrated and take breaks when needed

5.5 Babies & Children in Classes

 You remain responsible for your baby/child at all times during our sessions. I provide instruction and guidance, but you are your baby’s primary caregiver.

Please ensure:

  • Your baby is appropriately dressed for the activity
  • You have necessary supplies (nappies, wipes, milk, etc.)
  • Your baby has had recent feeds/naps as appropriate for the activity

6. ATTENDANCE & CONDUCT

6.1 Late Arrivals

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your class starts.

If you arrive more than [10/15] minutes late:

  • You may join at the instructor’s discretion

6.2 What to Bring

Please bring:

  • For baby massage: Towel/mat, oil (if not provided), nappies, wipes, change of clothes for baby, milk for after
  • For hypnobirthing & antenatal course: Notepad, water, birth partner
  • For pregnancy / mum relaxation classes: Cushions/pillows, blanket

6.3 Children & Siblings

Older children/siblings are not permitted in classes unless specifically stated as family-friendly sessions

OR

For Mummy’s Nest all children under school age are welcome to join

6.4 Behaviour

I reserve the right to ask you to leave without refund if:

  • Your behaviour is disruptive or disrespectful
  • You are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • You behave in a way that makes others uncomfortable

I aim to create a safe, welcoming, inclusive space for all.

7. PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIAL MEDIA

7.1 Photo Consent

I may take photographs or videos during classes for:

  • Social media promotion
  • Website content
  • Marketing materials

By attending my classes, you consent to being photographed unless you have specifically opted out via our photo consent form.

You can opt out at any time by emailing me

I will never tag you or use your name without explicit permission

Photos of babies/children will only be shared with explicit written consent from the parent

7.2 Your Own Photos/Videos

You are welcome to take photos for personal use, but please:

  • Do not share photos that include other participants without their permission
  • Do not livestream or record the class without permission

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All materials provided (handouts, guides, videos, course content, etc.) are protected by copyright and are for your personal use only.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute our materials
  • Share recordings or course content with others
  • Use our materials for commercial purposes
  • Teach our methods without appropriate training and permission

9. INSURANCE & LIABILITY

9.1 Our Insurance

I hold Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance with Westminster Insurance covering up to £5 million.

A copy of my insurance certificate is available on request.

9.2 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • I am not liable for any injuries sustained during classes if you have not disclosed relevant medical conditions
  • I am not liable for loss or damage to personal property
  • I am not liable for any indirect costs (travel, childcare, etc.) if I need to cancel
  • My liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service

This does not affect your statutory rights or our liability for death/personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. DATA PROTECTION & PRIVACY

I collect and store your personal information (name, contact details, medical information) in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

10.1 What I Collect

  • Contact information (name, email, phone)
  • Medical information relevant to safe participation
  • Booking and payment history
  • Emergency contact details

10.2 How I Use It

  • To provide our services to you
  • To contact you about your bookings
  • To send important updates about classes
  • To ensure your safety during activities
  • To send marketing emails – only if you’ve opted in

10.3 How I Store It

  • Securely on password-protected systems/encrypted platforms
  • For as long as necessary to provide services and for legal requirements
  • We will never sell your data to third parties

10.4 Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of marketing emails
  • Withdraw consent at any time

11. COMPLAINTS

I hope you’ll love my services, but if something goes wrong:

  3. I aim to resolve complaints within 14 days

12. CHANGES TO TERMS

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

When I do:

  • I will update the “Last updated” date at the top
  • I will notify existing clients by email
  • Continued use of our services means you accept the new terms

13. GENERAL

13.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions (along with my Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between us.

13.2 Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales / Scotland / Northern Ireland.
