Let me introduce myself
My Story
Hi, I’m Vicky, a mum of three, former primary school teacher, and passionate lactation consultant and perinatal educator. Before settling in leafy Surrey, I lived in both London and Dubai, but these days you’ll find me juggling life with my husband, three kids, and our cheeky puppy, usually with a latte in one hand and a chocolate biscuit in the other!
Each of my births was wildly different: a home birth, a caesarean, and a VBAC. I have experienced everything from NICU stays and CMPA to reflux, colic, tandem feeding, and breastfeeding well into toddlerhood. I have even taken a seven-week-old to Glastonbury Festival.
I have skydived, I adore Christmas, and I am happiest meeting friends for coffee and cake or talking about birth for hours on end.
I started The Fairy Birthmother because I wanted to offer parents the kind of support I wish I had when I was navigating pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. I believe it is so important to have realistic expectations and to understand the biological norms of babies and children. When we do this, we can parent in a responsive, confident, and compassionate way. My goal is to help parents feel empowered to have the best birth experience and to give their children the best start in life.
Love, Vicky x
